I think it may have been an issue relating to saves - either the game itself or Steam Sync. i.e. maybe I took the map earlier, went back several saves and the game thought I still had it - or something like that. All I know is it definitely was not in my inventory, nor anywhere in that building. So ...

I have the map from the jail - it is in my inventory.
If I press or hold A to Read it the map flashes up for a fraction of a second only.
In Controls it says to use left buffer to view the map, but that doesn't work.
I can't equip it like the sticks, lantern etc. either.

Am I missing something?
