Re: The finest game soundtracks... ever!
@David, Not hearing the Bioshock Infinite soundtrack isn't quite as egregious as when a friend of mine managed to play through all of Portal with the sound entirely turned off. He asked me later why everyone thought it was such a hilarious game. I just facepalmed.

Re: Close but no Cigar (Games that just miss the mark)
My expectations for Infinite were mainly based on the first Bioshock, which nailed the mix of action, story, and atmosphere. I felt like I was a part of the game. Bioshock Infinite, while it looked nice, seemed more like an amusement park attraction with really repetitive gameplay.

Re: Close but no Cigar (Games that just miss the mark)
Bioshock Infinite was a bit of a chore to get through. I remember thinking multiple times while playing how much I would love a game with a similar visual sense and setting, but get rid of all of the action, and make it more of a narrative puzzle game. Interestingly enough, I think the opening minut...

Though Seith hasn't committed to E3 or another conference, I'm fairly sure that we'll be there. If you can make it, that would be terrific! :D If you guys come to a conference here in the U.S. I'll try my hardest to be there. The skype thing didn't work for me, mostly because of the time difference.

Re: What are you currently listening to?
I've always wanted a hang drum. Unfortunately they cost quite a bit, here's a post on how (not) to get one: http://lostmoya.wordpress.com/2007/08/15/how-not-to-buy-a-hang-drum/ So I've been listening to what may be the greatest animated film score to date, How to Train Your Dragon 2 (previously my f...

What are you currently listening to?
Inspired by the extremely interesting "What are you currently eating?" thread, I figured I would make one based around my greatest obsession, music. I warn you, I may get a bit technical on occasion. :geek: Let us know what you're currently listening to (or have been listening to a lot recently)! I ...

Re: Great video game deals and sales - on now
@David, I recommend playing World of Goo as soon as possible. It's quite fun, but also manages to create a profound emotional connection in a way few other games I've played have. It has very deep messages about consumerism, corporate corruption, and hope in the face of disaster, and pulls it off in...

Re: [Possible Spoilers] Among The Sleep
I also was an original backer for the game, and while I haven't had a ton of time to play, have played about 1.5 hours. I play a ton of horror games (recently finished Outlast/Whistleblower), and this one wins in the creepy suspense department by far. There's something about playing as a child that ...

Re: Who'll visit the GOAT stand: Gamescom, Cologne, August 1
But at the conference, if you like, we could live-video on Skype with you to say 'hi!', then hold up the camera so you can see the GOAT stand and have a look around the event while it is happening live. It would be fun to do! :D I'm completely up for this. It would definitely beat sitting around wo...

Re: The finest game soundtracks... ever!
Somehow I managed to miss this discussion for a while. I'm not as well versed in game scores as I am in film scores. Some of my favorites have already been mentioned, Journey and Dear Esther. Journey is gorgeous, with that one terrifying track (Nadir), which I sometimes listen to on repeat. Dear Est...

There's also Jeremiah, the composer, who is insanely skilled for someone so young. Thank you. Like Seith, I have made some extravagant... cough... investments. Such as my new home, as shown here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_iPoYPiOQIDs/TDhuQuDfILI/AAAAAAAAACY/1h6vWdhDPN0/s320/fishhouse11-550x486.jpg

Re: Great video game deals and sales - on now
Anyone on the fence, they added a few goodies to this pack including the Mortal Kombat Arcade collection and guardians of middle earth (along with I think some DLC type stuff for games in the pack). They also added the first F.E.A.R. which I was quite happy to hear. I don't like starting partway th...

Yeah, I got this instantly the moment I saw it (about 3 minutes after it first went online yesterday). It's a rather insane deal, and well worth it.

Re: The greatest games of all time & what are you playing no
I've played far too few games to make a statement on the greatest games of all time. I play mostly indie games, with a few big titles here and there. Right now I'm slowly making my way through Super Meat Boy, and Bioshock Infinite. I'm in the middle of Miasmata (really beautiful game, the best explo...

I would be quite glad to put together sheet music the player could collect. Piano arrangements maybe, or even lute scores.
