Re: First console version - Xbox only

@EvilKing... I agree, I think Microsoft would improve its reputation as a progressive company, if it opted to be the 'bigger man' and drop the parity clause... especially with regard to indie games. My life is exceedingly quiet these days, so I heartily encourage you to stalk Seith instead ...

Re: First console version - Xbox only

@EvilKing... I've been wondering the same thing myself. The XBone parity clause can be a SERIOUS issue for teeny-tiny indie teams (basically Seith who is working full time on the GoaT PC version alone) to try to get two versions (PC and XBone) launched simultaneously. Trying to get TWO decent qualit...

@Kandu... I love the voices on the Dark/Demon Souls soundtrack, and the quiet and understated melodic moments. Interesting! As for me I haven't really seem any horror movies, 'cos my go-to for entertainment is comedy. My expectations for Infinite were... the mix of action, story, and atmosphere. Yeah! I do like to mess about with systemic AI ( Crysis 1 , Far Cry: 1&2 , Just Cause 2 , SWAT 4 , Saints Row 3&4 , Splinter Cell: C&B , Hitman Absolution ). The gameplay in Infinite was just shooting or rooting about to...

Tilo's mum is so cute and funny that she deserves a comical game of her own, perhaps with her kitchen as the hub  Though we must be careful not to be gender biased, so perhaps have Tilo's dad as an optional character? This is something we have kind of touched on in other threads, but I thought you guys might be interested in a post on GOAT's tone. @EvilKing... excellent stuff, let us know how they look... I'm kind of drooling a bit at the thought of that decent size, high-resolution and those intense colors. Dammit, but I also love having my PC use an entire wall, with a projector. Decisions, decisions... first world problems...

@EvilKing.... I really do think this is another terrific idea. Re: Tricksey Trapsey! (Mouse .. Traps? )

I don't expect to have tons of stats and numbers... Much like Zelda and other games, you sort of learn over time (naturally) what is effective against certain enemies... I figured Seith will likely employ a handful of traps or less... traps add a whole new element and realm of possibilities. I coul...

Re: Tricksey Trapsey! (Mouse .. Traps? )

I'd prefer not to have the game turn into some type of strategic tower defense game (no indications, just putting it out there). But I rather love the idea you'll have some traps at your disposal (or that you can scavenge bits to build). @EvilKing... On the above points, I totally agree with you. I...

Re: Tricksey Trapsey! (Mouse .. Traps? )

If there are to be traps, I know Seith will avoid the "random death syndrome". So player will have (some) warning there is a trap or danger in the area. As for the flipside, the player trapping enemies, this would be a really interesting system. I would really like using the game's systems to maneuv...

Darn it, I've never had a girlfriend who was a gamer... they all got irritated when I started to play.

Re: GoaT and commercial matters

After I spent my brother's last savings for funding this game, me and my family moved houses too! @Kwisatz... you still have a shack, with cows, and a dynamocycle. Have you considered selling these to buy a further GoaT upgrade? Surely you can see from the photo below how happy your family would be...

Re: Collectibles In Game

@Fluke I know what you are saying... sometimes collectibles/badges/etc. can be a bit pointless, but imho if the collectible is off the main path, and a bit challenging to reach/find, they can add an extra element of gameplay to players who enjoy this kind of thing.

Re: Character clothing (aka Mousewear)

As for me, I kind of imagine that hats will be a GoaT thing. After all, there is already the normal hat (is it a bonnet?) and the fancy hat :D http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y517/whitenorthstar/hat1_zps47c29d3d.jpg http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y517/whitenorthstar/Hat2_zps9aa7061a.jpg htt...

@Kwisatz Nice one! I'm really tempted by this offer but, because I'm based in Asia these days, the server distance lag is just too much... I'd just be cannon fodder :D

Re: Great video game deals and sales - on now

@EvilKing... I think you are right, Obduction really could be something quite special. Good news! The STEAM AUTUMN SALE is on from now until 3 December. Right now I'm seeing decent prices on titles like 'The Walking Dead', 'Sleeping Dogs' and 'Skyrim', I love Steam sales. EDIT. I bought 'Skyri...

I'm sorry for this topic, as it was left as a stump. @Kwisatz Actually, what a fun and interesting thread! As you say, I think this will be an awesome discussion when GoaT is a bit farther along, and we have more info... say in about 6-8 months. With regard to GoaT as a possible Unity showcase, it ...

@Kwisatz... GoaT will be massive... bigger than Call of Duty and Warcraft combined. Seith already bought his personal aircraft: http://i1278.photobucket.com/albums/y517/whitenorthstar/G6_zpsd8f11461.jpg As for the development team, it really is mostly Seith. He now has someone who helps him with som...

@Kwisatz and EvilKing.... It looks like you are both in agreement, favoring an approach that is a little more creative than the standard approach. Yes, we can agree that the standard stereotypical approach would be ok, it is less effort, lower risk, and it might even be great fun :D However, the goo...

Yes, I've also been wondering how magic will fit in the GoaT world. Re: World scale and size morphing

^ @ EvilKing... exactly! that's the kind of thing I was talking about. 'Scale' looks very interesting, for sure... it could be great! This project game uses a much simpler visual style than GoaT, so zooming in and out is more achievable. From everything I've seen and heard from Seith so far, GoaT wi...
