Re: Interesting and cinematic island locations
I love the idea of Moai though tthey'd have to be scaled down as the real ones would be MASSIVE.. unless you had a game level take place IN one of those heads.. that'd be fun for a dungeon maze/puzzle Other locations that'd be fun: Pet semetary/burial ground (fun creepy and even a little touching, o...

Re: The Lute!
Would love to see the lute be the visual cue for the characters health(I mean it's on the characters back so we'll see it all the time). As you take damage it goes from new to cracked to strings snapped to the neck half splintered... healing is a few moments of quiet mending the instrument(and whisk...

Re: Should the Game Feature Seasons?
Well It was a thought and if the engine doesn't have a viable method, so be it. Could always also just vary it by region. You stated that the island the game takes place on with have a number of environments, so you could at least emulate the idea of seasons depending on where across the region you ...

Re: The Lute!
ok if the music made the lead developer, and the creator of this whole project, tear up.. it's gotta be resonating on just the right level. This is really good news.

Re: In Game Dialogue
Does anyone have any thoughts about a narrator (remember how terrific that was in Bastion)? YES! This right here. This would come together in the tradition of folktales, bed time stories, and oral traditions that I think goes with what Seith mentioned as well about the kids stories and some of his ...

Re: In Game Dialogue
I personally feel this game would benefit from no dialogue. The story and history of the island could be told through the environment and items. Possibly item descriptions, ala Dark Souls. I actually think since this is a small project and may only be created by a handful of people (or possibly jus...

In Game Dialogue
I'm curious what backers would like to see (or rather, HEAR) in the game. Would you prefer voice actors and fully voiced dialogue? Animal sounds and subtitles for speech? No dialogue at all and just an implied sense of story? Also, if there were voices of some kind, should the main character be unvo...

Re: Suggest Enemy types!
As for enemies, hmm, perhaps something like archerfish? They could knock our little mouse friend into the water, and either have to confront the fish or other aquatic enemies if he doesn't get out in time. I like that idea. Kind of like the water creatures in the old Zelda games. They sit in the wa...

Re: Suggest Enemy types!
LOL I like the chameleon idea, or at least the idea if you are 'backstabbed' it plucks the lute and attracts more enemies.. would be a strange yet intriguing element to the game. The description of the game early on lent itself to some combat but also a lot of puzzles and thinking, and what you are ...

Should the Game Feature Seasons?
(This is all based on the idea from an interview article with the creators and hints that if this game does well, others will possibly follow. So I am optimistically hoping for possibly a trilogy) I don't know if it was expected to put in some weather effects into the game, but I was curious what ot...

Re: The Lute!
Ah I read that article some time ago, and yes, hinted at with the lute, but no real spoilers or details given. Which just means plenty of folk can throw what they think it can be for on these threads. Maybe if someone is close they can win a custom windows wallpaper of the hero and the lute. heheh. ...

Re: The Lute!
Your character actually is carrying the lute en route to their lover to play them a love song/poem. The better you play the game and the less damage/deaths you use to accomplish the overall quest, the better condition the lute is in at the end and so the better the music is. MULTIPLE ENDINGS!!! Actu...

Suggest Enemy types!
I realize this is going to be a tough but epic project, so I would love to see supporters toss ideas around for enemy types to see in the game. I understand we do not fully know and have a grasp of the story and theme, but kicking around possibilities is always fun, even if they end up scrapped. I w...

Re: Ride the crabs!
OK i love that idea. It would be kool to have a charm ability to briefly control them like you mentioned, or even using a stealth component, while sneaking, hide on their backs and ride them through certain areas. Having a "Crabshell Shield" to hide under would be even better for avoiding ...
