Hello! Ghost of a Tale is such an amazing looking game, so i figured it wouldn't hurt to start an official screenshot thread. :) Thanks to Seith (and everyone else who worked on the game) for all the hard work!

Just so everybody knows, it seems like the widest resolution the images can be (and fit on the screen) is 750. Is there any way to change this so we can upload and display full 1920x1080p images? For now, i put the full res link to each picture under the image.

Picked up this game today.
Loving everything about it so far - graphics are stunning, the depth of field effects are great!
Tilo is so full of character. I'm so looking forward to delving more into this story.

Sweet shot sentoki. You cant go wrong with Tilo poking his little head out of a bucket. :) And i agree, the graphics really are stunning.

Nautilus - I just have to say how refreshing it is to see someone who can take and frame quality screenshots. Nicely done :)

Thanks Fluke. :) Its tough to get original and interesting shots since theres no free camera/fov adjustment/stopping time/ect., and theres only a few animations right now you can use to pose Tilo. This game deserves to have a million screenshots though. Its just so charming and full of character (and detail!).

And that might just be the best screenshot yet Thomas. haha :D

It would be cool to have a screenshot mode. I always appreciate a decent image though as 15-odd years ago, one of my roles in a job I had was taking screenshots for educational software CD covers - now that was a challenge :D

After trying for around an hour to get all the courtyard guards into one room with a door i could lock, i finally did it. After a few minutes of total freedom to look at everything/take screenshots without the fear of being caught (the guard armor isnt a good alternative to this since you move so annoyingly slow), they all magically appeared back at their posts. :x All that for nothing and no decent screenshots to show for it.

I think the sewers are my favorite area so far. With the added touches of glowing mushrooms, murky water and redish/pinksish fog, it all comes together perfectly.

Note to devs - get a screenshot mode in for Nautilus (with higher than screen resolution rendering).

I'd seriously have some of these shots as posters or canvas prints.

Oh man, id seriously do anything for that. I continuously look around throughout the day for 3rd party programs (cheat engine, trainers) that would let me remove the hud, stop time, fly around, disable the ai, ect. Ive actually sent a few emails back and forth with Seith (who is one of the nicest developers ive ever talked to btw) about this. Obviously he has more important things to think about right now when it comes to the game, but im crossing my fingers for something in the future. Ghost of a Tale is just so good looking and so full of character, its hard not to screenshot of every inch of it.

And if you want bigger versions of any of the screenshots, just let me know. I take them in 5-6k (although sometimes i crop them a little smaller).

What are you guys using for HUD toggle? I don't see it anywhere in the options.

All this playing as a mouse made me dig up my dvd of The Secret of NIMH. Even after all these years it never loses its mystery and charm (im sure Ghost of a Tale will be the same 30 years from now too). Thanks for inspiring me to watch it again Seith!

Nice! Would it be okay to post some of these to our Facebook page?

By the way, Seith tells me that the option to toggle the HUD is already implemented, and will be in the next build.

I would be absolutely delighted for you to use any of my screenshots.

Here's a dropbox link to their larger versions in .png format: https://www.dropbox.com/s/464pkbg4s4e38 ... s.zip?dl=0

And I am very happy a HUD toggle will be implemented in the next build. Awesome.

@ Nautilus -- I love your shots. The one with the roses with Tilo looking up is my favorite.

I need to jump on and play some more but I have a busy gaming schedule for October. I also need to finish and then shoot Bioshock Remastered.

Appreciate that Brownbeard. :) And that shot is definitely one of my favorites too.

And i hear you about a busy October. I just finished Bioshock remastered myself. Some areas look amazing in it, but there are (still) a bunch messed up textures in it, unfortunately.

Thanks Boolean. :) It really helps when you have such an interesting and good looking world to run around in, like Ghost has. I don't really do any photography (besides a few random pics here and there), but i have run a game screenshot blog for the last 6 years (http://www.digifront.net if you're interested) and sometimes do freelance screenshot work for developers.

And i know it's a bit early, but Happy Halloween from Tilo the Pumpkin King!

Freelance screenshot work? Sounds like a fun form of work.

Thanks for the link. As someone who really likes to look at environment design in games, these types of screenshots are always a treat.

It really can be. Less so though, when you get a really boring/bad game that's visually not very interesting. Plus, when doing it as a hobby, you can take any kind of screenshot you want, but when a developer wants specific things, it can really narrow down how much creativity you can put in a shot (which is the funnest part). Still, it's awesome to be able to do it on any level, whether it's just for fun or for more serious stuff. The biggest highlight for me is having the total freedom to fully explore the game worlds. And glad you like the other screenshots. :)

Btw Seith, if you ever read this, they just released the Nvidia Ansel plugin for Unity. *wink wink* :D

Hello again friends! New updates mean new screenshots :D

Didn't think the game could look better than it already did, but how wrong i was. Seith, i will pay any price for a free camera and a fov adjustment in this game! New house? New car? Whatever it takes, i'm willing to do it. lol :)

:D Thanks again Nina! You know, taking screenshots has become so much a part of the total experience of a game to me, that it's almost indistinguishable from the actual gameplay. So part of the fun on the "screenshot gameplay" side of things is to try and tell a little self contained story in some of the pictures. And Ghost is like a slice of heaven when it comes to that, because everything looks amazing and Tilo reacts so well to stuff around him.

P.s. I'm in love with these new spiderwebs!

Cool shots Wlfvenom!

I swear this game has the gravity of a black hole. Once i hear there's a new update, i can't resist the pull and have to jump right back in immediately.

I'm a sucker for tucked away cozy spots in games, and this little area is one the best i've found yet. :) I feel like a Hobbit might live in there!
