In the jail, there is a bucket near the sleeping guard. When I carried the bucket down into the flooded cell, dropped it and picked it up again, it disappeared after I walked a short distance to climb back onto the landing. Tilo's arms remained outstretched, but they appeared empty. I put down the "invisible bucket" and it now seems to be completely gone. When I walk near the spot where I set it down, there is no indication of an interactive object there. It has never reappeared throughout several quits and restarts.
